The Annual Sports Meet 2019-20 of the Mahatma Education Society’s Pillai College of Education and Research, Chembur was held on 2nd December, 2019 at the RCF Sports ground.
The day began with the Inaugural ceremony which was hosted by Dr. Swasti Dhar, Asst. Professor. The Chief Guest for the Sports Meet, Dr. Bhaskar Thube was warmly welcomed by the staff and students of Mahatma Education Society, Chembur. During the addressal Dr. Thube highlighted the need for physical exercise and training which is taking a back seat with internet and smart phones access to every school going child. The teaching, non-teaching and student volunteers worked together to bring every event to completion without hassles. After the Chief Guest declared the Sports Meet open, the events starting rolling and the sports field was abuzz with students competing for the winning position at every events. Announcements for every event, the sprinting athletes, the cheering audience, the proudly beaming winners on the victory stands, each was a delectable sight. The teaching, non teaching and student volunteers worked together to bring every event to completion without hassles. There was a spirit of sportsmanship, commaraderie and cheer in the air.
The B.Ed. students participated in the events like 100 m Running Race, Marble and Spoon, Shot put and Broad jump. The B.Ed. students participated wholeheartedly and won many prizes. The Overall Championship (girls) was awarded to Ms. Sabina Rose of S.Y. B.Ed.
