Pillai College of Education and Research – Learning Resource Centre (PCER LRC) is continually striving to become a valuable resource for its members and all knowledge seekers. PCER LRC plays a fundamental role in the developmental activities of both – students and teachers. With a organically growing collection, the PCER LRC is committed to include modern and evolving trends in educational resources, inclusive of — ebooks; audio and video tutorials; 24/7 access to GNU Open Source / Creative Commons / non copyright resources such as: wikipedia.org, gutenberg.org, eric.ed.gov etc. PCER LRC has also taken interlibrary loan and knowledge sharing facilities with other institutions like Delnet, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Homi Bhabha Center for Science Education.

The Learning Resource Centre is open throughout the year with the exception of public holidays. Regular timings are 08:30 19:15 hours during the academic session.
The PCER LRC is a well ventilated, airy and naturally lighted hall that has been divided into various sections — Book Collection Stacks, Reading Space, Staff Enclosure
The PCER LRC collection includes: books, ebooks, journals, Audio-Visual aids, Question Papers, Syllabus, Project reports.

PCER LRC has classified its knowledge resources according to globally recognized Dewey Decimal Classification System and arranged branch wise.
PCER LRC provides instruction in Library use through orientation and printed materials. It provides students and staff free internet facility and free interlibrary loan service. The college is linked with Libraries of TATA Institute of Social Sciences, DELNET (Developing Library Network). The library service is monitored by the Library Advisory Committee. The book bank facility is available for students who belong to under privileged sections of the society.
PCER LRC has interconnectivity with all Mahatma Education Society’s institutions to share knowledge resources and information to meet the requirements of our users.
PCER LRC has formed library committee to formulate policies and guidelines for the smooth functioning of Library activities. It also involves student representatives.
PCER LRC has automated its housekeeping activities like — Acquisition, Cataloging, Circulation, and Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC). The Integrated Library System (ILS) Software being used by PCER LRC is KOHA — a Free & Open Source (FOSS) package used by nearly 1000 libraries across the world. Users have 24/7 online access to the OPAC. Apart from the OPAC, the PCER LRC is also investigating the Drupal CMS (Content Management System) for sharing of Learning Resources.
