On 15th August, 2024, Mahatma Education Society’s Pillai College of Education and Research, Chembur, commemorated India’s 78th Independence Day through a series of events. The day began with a warm welcome, followed by the raising of the national flag by the Chief Guest, Dr. Rajendra Deshmukh. The celebration included remarkable performances, such as an NCC Parade presented by Mahatma Night Degree College and an inspiring speech by Dr. Deshmukh. Chembur English Pre-Primary & Primary School performed a musical skit on women empowerment, while Chembur English High School contributed with a patriotic medley song. Additionally, Chembur Marathi Madhyamik Shala showcased a patriotic medley song, and Mahatma Junior College of Education featured a solo singing of a patriotic song. Pillai College of Education and Research delivered a group dance on the theme “Viksit Bharat.” Mahatma Night Junior College of Arts and Commerce, along with Mahatma Night Degree College of Arts and Commerce, performed a patriotic group song. The celebration culminated with a heartfelt vote of thanks, emphasizing the significance of unity and patriotism in honoring India’s struggle for independence.
