International Day for Preservation of the Ozone Layer, is celebrated every year on September 16th. To commemorate this day students of MES’s Pillai College of Education and Research, Chembur organized various engaging activities in their practice teaching schools during the Semester 3 internship from 16th September to 20th September, 2024. These activities aimed to raise awareness among students about the importance of protecting the ozone layer and to foster environmental consciousness. Keeping in mind the aim of celebrating World Ozone Day, S. Y. B.Ed students conducted activities like Essay writing competition, Slogan writing competition, Quiz on Ozone Layer Protection, Group Discussion on Ozone Depletion and Global Action, etc across different grades in their practice teaching schools.
The activities held on Ozone Day in practice teaching schools during the internship helped students understand the importance of protecting the ozone layer. These activities, aligned with SDG 13 – Climate Action, helped build a sense of responsibility in students to take action for a sustainable future.
