The Women Development Cell of Pillai College of Education and Research, Chembur, organized a special assembly on 24th January 2025 to celebrate National Girl Child Day with the objectives of raising awareness about the significance of National Girl Child Day, promoting gender equality, and recognizing contributions of women in various fields. During this special assembly a thought-provoking message, followed by a discussion on how education and awareness can help achieve gender equality and speeches highlighting the history, objectives, and challenges faced by girls were shared by B.Ed. students. The students also presented songs celebrating the girl child that reflected themes of strength, resilience, and empowerment. A poetry recitation competition was also held, during which students recited poems about the struggles, dreams, and triumphs of girls which the students had composed. The assembly concluded with a vote of thanks, reinforcing the importance of honoring and empowering girls and inspiring students to contribute to a more inclusive and equitable society.
