Mahatma Education Society’s Pillais’ College of Education and Research, Chembur and Mahatma Night Degree College of Arts and Commerce, Chembur organized an Indian Council of Social Science Research, (WRC), Mumbai sponsored Workshop on “Research Methodology in Social Sciences” from 8th to 14th August, 2015. The main objectives of the workshop were to acquaint the participants with the basics, types & process of research and give hands on experience with descriptive and Statistical data analysis and exposure to the participants to use computers in acquiring web resources for review of related literature and referencing and writing of research report.

The workshop was presided by Chief Guest Dr. A. B. Rao, HOD, Research Centre Allana Institute Of Management, Pune, Dr. Sunita Wadikar, Principal, Pillais’ College of Education and Research, Chembur and Dr. Padma Rangan, Principal, Mahatma Night Degree College of Arts and Commerce, Chembur along with other dignitaries. Ms. Vani Achari and Ms. Anaya Markendya were the co-ordinators of the workshop. The sessions were interactive, with hands on experience using web resources. At the end of each day there were paper presentations by the participants. On 14th August, 2015 from 4.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. valedictory function was held which was presided by Chief Guest Dr. Indu Garg, Head of Department, Department of Education, University of Mumbai. The key issues addressed were the high quality research and professional development of teachers. Each session was very fruitful as resource persons could meet the participant’s expectations with their expertise. Certificate of Participation and Paper Presentation were distributed at the end of the session. The workshop proved to be a great success with participants requesting to hold more such workshops in near future.
