PCER, Chembur organized an expert lecture to observe 11th July as World Population Day 2024. Dr. T. V Sekhar is the Professor and Head of the Department of Family and Generations & Centre for Ageing Studies at the International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai. He gave a very interesting and thought provoking lecture on Population Ageing in India. He spoke about the population distribution in India across the various states, age demographics, marital status, earning capacity across ages and genders. He also highlighted the issue of elder abuse and also shared about the various surveys and longitudinal studies being conducted. The session was very informative and provided an in depth understanding of the issues and challenges with respect to the Population Ageing in India.
